| How many consultants are there in your department in the concerned specialty ? : | 25 |
| What are the usual working hours??: | From 7 am to 8pm everyday without week offs. Twice weekly night on call duties. No night offs on next day. Minimum 12-14 hrs each day. |
| How many emergency duties per week and describe work if possible.: | I am in first year junior residency.Emergency calls are there from second year onwards. During first year we are expected to take daily rounds.check vitals,update lab reports in files,send labs,examine patients daily. Two rounds per day are expected .We can suggest investigation and treatment . We have unit system here and each unit have few wards allotted to them. I am looking after 3 wards presently i.e two general wards and one private ward patients which have almost 15-20 pts per day with 10-15 pts in joint care with other specialties. Tremendous work load with good clinical exposure. during night on calls we are supposed to take history of new patients examine and give SOS therapy. inform primary consultants,check all inpatients complaints and treat them |
| Are you allowed to touch the patient ?? please describe the procedures you have done .: | Yes we are allowed to touch the patient and have done all kinds of ward procedure like lumbar puncture, pleural , ascitic tapping, iv canulas and third year ICU postings with central lines and intubation.etc. |
| How are the academics? any case presentations done? Please put a timetable if present.: | Everyday some activities. Case presentation one per week ,one journal presentation, one ward round, one seminar on some topic we HV to present, monthly mortality meet round, one nejm case reading.etc plus outside and inside CME . |
| How is the pass rate?? have your seniors passed.: | Almost 100% till date. |

| Any other departments at your institution good for DNB??: | Orthopaedics and surgery. |
| Stipend and accomodation details: | 39000 recently increased. Accomodation for first years is available inside the hospital itself,2nd year onwards it is located at 5 mins walking distance. |
| Any other info you would like to give.?: | Good hospital to learn but hectic duties hours.One gets ample time during third year for preparation for exams. |
| Why did you chose this hospital? | I wanted to do DNB from a good hospital ,read it is good on internetAnd it was in my native city. |
