Hello everyone !! We all ask about stipend and fees while deciding about a hospital. Though Stipend should be your last factor while choosing a hospital in DNB and academics should be you priority , still i feel one should know how much he is going to get. In the past there have been hospitals which used to give as low as 3000Rs /month and some hospitals even took back the stipend in form of accommodation charges, security fees etc. So one needs to know that the situation has pretty much changed since the new guidelines have come out. The minimum stipend is now 25K,27K,29k in corresponding years or state government stipend whichever is more. Most corporate hospitals and govt institutions follow these guidelines.These will be followed in 95% of the hospitals in DNB, however still some small peripheral hospitals may give you less than whats written in guidelines but adequate enough for you to sustain in a small place. Be cautious of places which are paying less than 10000 stipend. If you happen to talk to a resident from a hospital, try to confirm the stipend once .
Total fees is now 80k, however if your institute doesn’t provide accommodation , they should charge 10k less. Some institutes are still taking 50k as fees cause they are paying less stipend than prescribed guidelines. So keep that in mind.
At one particular place i.e Sri Sathya Sai institute of medical sciences, Ananthpur , Andhra pradesh,they don’t charge any fees, your total course will be free of cost,accommodation will be free,everything will be free. You will get stipend according to NBE guidelines and on top of that the institute is very good academically .
