BARC Hospital is 390 bedded multispecialty centre at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai – 94. The hospital is accredited by the National Board of Examination (NBE), New Delhi for 20 Primary and 14 Secondary per year seats of DNB (Diplomat of National Board) program presently operating 16 seats of this course. Dr Ankur Chaurasia who is my junior from KMC, Mangalore has recently joined here as a DNB Resident in Department of ENT at this hospital. 2 consultants, for Oncosurgery in head an neck, consultants come from outside
What are the usual working hours??
10am to 4pm
How many emergency duties per week?
For 1st yr : 15 days per month
For 2ndyr : 10 days per month
For 3rd yr :5 days per month
If its a surgical branch then what all surgeries you have performed till now?
If you work hard then free hand at surgeries is given, i am new to the course so i have Assisted tonsillectomy , assisted DNS and assisted local procedure.
Are you allowed to touch the patient ??
Yes, there is absolute free hand at work
How are the academics?
Academics are Average, they are not regular, but if we ask our consultants to discuss some topic they usually do it,this happens 3-4 times a week.
How is the pass rate??
As there is only 1 candidate giving exam every year, pass rate is 100% here. All candidates have passed.

Satisfied
Any other departments at your institution good for DNB??
Medicine, surgery and paediatrics are average from what i know, Opthal is not good, but please contact a resident from respective department for more information

The hospital has 390 beds and caters to 4 lakh employees and their family of BARC. Caseload is average to good.

I made enquiry about this hospital and heard its good, so took it.
