RN Cooper Hospital has been the first choice of candidates for DNB Orthopedics and other branches but it was somehow lagging when it came to DNB Psychiatry. However, things have now changed and Psychiatry department is fast becoming one of the best offerings in DNB . It is now one of the recommended choices for DNB psychiatry as its a complete medical college providing equivalence with MD psychiatry. Dr Ojasvi Batra who joined DNB Psychiatry here almost an year back answers some key questions about this place and tells us how it offers a balanced lifestyle (read as proximity to Juhu Beach) which is quintessential in today’s fast paced world. If you still have doubts about this hospital you can call him on 9991894504

The Institute is a Govt Medical College and 1300 bedded Super Speciality Hoapital and caters as a Tertiary level referral centre for a big part of Mumbai. Being a Super speciality government hospital there’s no dearth of patients and ample scope to learn Liaison Psychiatry also. The dept is due for further expansion this year with additional teaching staff due to come in. For those interested Multiple research projects going on regarding use of technology and EEGs.
Why did you chose this hospital?
1) Govt Medical College which ensures a good patient load. Also qualifies as a Teaching Hospital, thus bypassing the MCI ruling on equivalence.
2) Chance to attend Lectures at various Medical Colleges in the city. Small cities don’t offer this privilege.
3) Great place (Mumbai) and good stipend. Juhu beach is a KM away 🙂
