SevenHills Hospital is a group of three private hospitals, operating under central management, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Visakhapatnam branch opened in 1986 and is the oldest corporate hospital with a good reputation in this beautiful coastal city. Ans : 24006 in NEET PG 2020

How many consultants are there in general surgery?
Ans :  1

What are the usual working hours ?
Ans : 8am to 2pm and  5pm-9pm

How many emergency duties per week and describe work if possible.
Ans: Only on call duty alternate days

What all surgeries you have performed till now?
Ans: Incision and Drainage, Excision of Lipoma, Sebaceous cyst,Hemorrhoids,Fistula,Diabetic foot( including toe amputation),Excision of pilonidal sinus,Hydrocele,Inguinal Hernia (in parts),Varicose Veins (in parts),Lap Chole and Appendix (Not skin to skin, in parts, lot of assistance, some gallbladder dissection, no callots, no first port placement)

Are you allowed to touch the patient ? please describe the procedures you have done .
Free to take history and examine the patient in room during rounds
Should do all dressings and minor bedside and out patient procedures

How are the academics? any case presentations done?
Not very regular or rigorous, more during exam time,
Mostly before exam time,
Nice library though, 24×7

How is the pass rate?? have your seniors passed.
My batch 100%, my juniors as well, but before it was slightly less. I wouldn’t worry too much about it
as my seniors told me on my 1st day, if you study you’ll pass, it’s as simple as that.

How satisfied are you with your choice?
Satisfied

Any other departments at your institution good for MD/DNB??
Anesthesia and medicine are also good

Any other info you would like to give ?
HOD is a great surgeon and you can learn a lot from him, his dissection is immaculate, his standards are very high, and his clinical knowledge is very good as he is PGI alumni. Hands on is limited you see, but if you absorb well in 3 yrs, you can come out and practice during senior residency very well hospital is small but patient load is adequate, you get to learn a lot about survival and thriving in corporate environment which i think medical college PGs miss out on.

Why did you chose this hospital?
1. Visakhapatnam is a major city with good connectivity
2. Sevenhills is one of the oldest corporate in town and has a lot reputation behind it
3. It’s what i got on my rank
