Q1: What is your Current Designation?
A: Iam a Consultant Psychiatrist

Q2: What was your NEET PG/DNB rank?
A: My rank was 13,000.

Q3: How many consultants are there in your Psychiatry department?
A: There are 4 consultants in my department.

Q4: What are the usual working hours?
A: The working hours are from 9 AM to 7 PM.

Q5: How many emergency duties do you have per week, and what do they involve?
A: We have one week of emergency duties every month. The duties are light during the 1st and 2nd years, accompanying Senior Residents. Later, responsibilities increase. Work includes managing aggressive patients, late-night admissions, emergency and acute psychiatric care, administering and managing ECT and related procedures.

Q6: Are you allowed to handle patients directly? What procedures have you performed?
A: Yes, we are allowed to interact directly with patients. I have performed ECT, ketamine therapy, rTMS, CRT, virtual reality therapy, and various other therapies.

Q7: How are the academics? Do you have case presentations?
A: Academics are rigorous with twice-weekly presentations, case discussions, journal clubs, and quizzes. Additionally, there is once-a-week NBE online webinars. Formative assessments occur four times in total, concluding with a final DNB exam.

Q8: What is the pass rate? Have your seniors passed?
A: The pass rate is around 50-60%. Some of my seniors have successfully passed.

Q9: How satisfied are you with your choice of institute?
A: I am very satisfied with my choice.

Q10: What are the stipend and accommodation details?
A: The stipend is ₹50,000 as per government rules. Accommodation is provided—a three-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and washroom.

Q11: Any other information you would like to share?
A: It is a tertiary center with very good exposure and a wide variety of cases. We have a Rehabilitation Center with 100 beds and the Indlas Child Guidance Center, which is pan-India with five branches specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, are very good. There is also a Neuromodulation Clinic. The consultants are well-known, including past National IPS presidents.

Q12: Why did you choose this hospital?
A: I chose this hospital for three main reasons:

  1. Exposure across general adult, rehabilitation, neuromodulation, and child psychiatry.
  2. Hands-on exposure to a wide variety of cases.
  3. Highly reputed directors leading the institute.
