A: I have completed DNB Pediatrics from Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Centre, Faridabad.

Q: How many consultants are in your department?
A: Our department had two full-time paediatric consultants, two paediatric cardiologists, a PCTVS surgeon, a visiting paediatric neurologist, and a paediatric surgeon.
Q: What are your usual working hours?
A: I work 8–10 hours per day and approximately 48 hours per week.
Q: How are emergency duties scheduled, and what do they involve?
A: The number of emergency duties depends on the roster, but total duty hours are 48 per week.
Q: What procedures are performed by residents in your department?
A: Residents perform all procedures, including NICU cannulation, intubation, surfactant administration, umbilical line insertion, double volume exchange, lumbar puncture, pleural tapping, abdominal paracentesis, femoral and neck (IJV) lines, intercostal drains (ICD), as well as most PICU procedures—almost all central lines, intubations, lumbar punctures (CSF), and ICD placements.

A: Academic activity consists mainly of bedside discussions. There are fewer classes and less formal academic teaching.
