Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi was commenced on 15th August 1991. Hospital was started with a humble beginning of 65 beds and within a short span of 26 years this hospital has reached to the stage of 400 bedded multi-super specialty catering to the population of not only Delhi but also from the adjoining states such as Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, U.P. and also remote areas like Assam, Orissa etc.The cornerstones of Maharaja Agrasen Hospitals are its unstinting focus on clinical excellence, affordable costs, technology and forward-looking research & academics. How many consultants are there in Surgery department?

Total 3 units with 6 consultants ( 3 senior 3 junior consultants)

What are the usual working hours??

Officially its 9 to 5 but you might have to be in hospital after 5 on OT days

How many emergency duties per week ?

2-3,Total 9-10 night duties per month

What all surgeries you have performed till now?

Surgeries i have done independently till now:

Major surgeries - inguinal and paraumblical hernia open meshplasty, hydrocele,fistulectomy,fissurectomy,haemorrhoidectomy,pilonidal sinus excision, skin grafting etc

In Laparoscopy - only lap chole

Minor procedures- All surface surgeries including sebaceous cyst,lipoma,nerve and muscle biopsy,circumcision and all minor ot procedures

Other than this you’ ll assist all major surgeries like laparotomy,whipples freys procedures,kidney transplant etc

Are you allowed to touch the patient?? Please describe the procedures you have done

Ofcourse yes, since its a trust hospital all types of patients come.Your the first contact of any patient.Casualty is very heavy here so you will be exposed to varieties of patients including trauma,gunshot injury etc

Academics are poor. You have to arrange it by self
