Dr. Krati Gupta is currently pursuing Cornea and Refractive Surgery fellowship at Narayana Nethralaya, Bengaluru, India. I gave DNB CET so my rank was 4737, my junior batch came through NEET Ranks 10k-15k

What are the usual working hours??

1st year 8am to 7pm,On Wednesday and Saturday 7:30 am to 7pm

2nd year onwards 8am to 5:30pm, On Wednesday and Saturday 7:30 am to 5:30pm

How many emergency duties per week?

There is no 24 hour emergency duty. 1-2 night duty (5:30pm to 8am next day) per month ( as it is divided amongst all DNBs and fellows).No independent night duty until completion of 3 month after joining for primary DNB and until completion 1 month after joining for Secondary DNB.

What all surgeries you have performed till now?

Cataract surgeries SICS, ECCE, Phacoemulsification, DCT, DCR, Entropion and Pterygium surgeries done independently.You will get to assist all surgeries in the remaining sub-speciality when you are posted with the respective consultants.

Are you allowed to touch the patient??

Yes, you start seeing patients independently from 2 nd year in case of primary DNB and after completing 3 months for Secondary DNB

How are the academics? any case presentations done?

Excellent, There is subspecialty wise journal club every day. Symposium lectures every Wednesday and case presentation every Saturday.

How is the pass rate?? Have your seniors passed?

My batch had 7 people (4 secondary DNB & 3 primary DNB) 6 of us cleared in the first attempt. My junior batch had 7 DNB candidates and all of them have cleared theory and are awaiting practical dates.

How satisfied are you with your choice?

Super Satisfied!!

Stipend and accommodation details:

Hostel is provided on double sharing basis with an attached bathroom.

Current stipend is 48k, 49k, and 51k for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year respectively.

It's a Centre for excellence in eye care located in the beautiful city of Guwahati.
