Dnb Final Round : Anything is possible !!

It’s good news for DNB aspirants this year, after all the court cases and all your efforts at last final round of DNB counselling is a reality. Yes its good news, but it has its downside too. It seems that all the opt outs are allowed, which I think is a tradition and not a new rule.

Third round/Final round has been unheard of in the history of DNB and there has been only one instance of DNB third round i.e. in 2012 January session. Approximately 180 seats had turned up for that counselling (you can expect a similar number this time) and it was a one day affair, they had personally phone called everyone who had opted out to attend the counselling which was a very good step by NBE. Hundreds had come on that day and Delhi clinical went up to 3000-4000 rank.

Next year 2013 there was no Third round, though we fought bravely for it but lost the case.

This year NBE has given you another opportunity to try your luck, you may get what you denied earlier, but i won’t expect too much out of this one, the precise reason being that it’s the last counselling of this year and everybody will try to attend it. Those with ranks less than 7500 can still hope to get some clinical but above that I don’t think anything is possible.Still hope for the best as this year Councelling has been full of surprises.

Also clarifying regarding Final exam date, if you take admission in this counselling your final exam will be in JUNE 2017 which is 3 years from now, however earlier round candidates are eligible to give exam in December 2016 but will have to stay till the completion of their course in that institute. So even if your were allowed in December session, you will have to stay with your instate till your 3 years are completed, irrespective of your passing or failing the final exam. Hence don’t make this your deciding factor.

I would advice everyone who is eligible upto 7500 rank to go and attend the counselling and take a seat if he gets his desired institute and branch, prefer institute over branch else prepare for next exam.
