Everybody has been asking for cut-offs of July session. Before we move onto cut-offs It would be wise to tell you that no particular subject finishes first in DNB but good institutes of all subjects are always taken up first. At a given rank you may be offered the best of opthal but the worst of radio. Such may be the scenario. The radio seat may last for a couple of days until somebody desperate for it finally picks it up. I have tried to put the cut-offs for all branches by studying counselling data of July 2013 session, includes both the rounds. The cut-offs for most branches were similar in both the rounds principal reason being that people don’t usually leave seats in july DNB as there are no other exams or counselling’s to draw candidates towards them.
I had the complete details of first round so you can count on this data, however the trends may vary this time if seats increase and emergency medicine is added to the list of DNB courses. Nevertheless, at this point I would advice everyone within the first 4000 ranks to attend counselling till further seat matrix is displayed on the website.
Radio – 300 to 500, Bombay hospital and NIMS jaipur last to go, Bombay hospital is good.
Medicine – 1600 rank, last seat remaining was Naza reth hospital, which was taken between 1600-2200 ranks.
Paediatrics. – most seats got over within 1300 to 1600 ranks , Nazareth hospital remained after that was taken up between 1600-2200 ranks.
Orthopaedics – 1300- 1600 rank, NIMS jaipur last two seats were taken up between 1600-2200 ranks
General surgery – 2200 to 2800 ranks approx. 10 + seats were available on this day .Durgapur steel plant survived after these ranks.
All other branches – between 2500 – 3500 ranks. Good hospitals for these branches got over before these ranks, average hospitals and the bad ones lingered on between these ranks.
NIMS, jaipur seats were last to go in almost all branches however NIMS jaipur OBG is good.
