Jaipur Golden has been one of the Reputed hospitals in Delhi. It has been running DNB Courses for almost 15 years now.  In the year 2001 accreditation was granted in Family Medicine. In 2003, the hospital obtained further accreditation from the National Board of Examinations in the specialties of Anesthesia, General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), and Pediatrics. The specialties of General Medicine and Obst. & Gynecology were granted recognition for DNB studies in January 2004 and January 2005 respectively. How many consultants are there in your department in the concerned specialty?

Seven consultants and two senior residents

What are the usual working hours??

On the non duty days it is 9 am to 4 pm

How many emergency duties per week and decribe work if possible?

For first year it ranges from 9-11 emergency duties a month . Duties are pretty relaxed as not many emergency calls for ENT. Mostly 1-2 night calls and sometimes none too.

What all surgeries you have performed till now?

I have done solo(under supervision ofcourse) tracheostomy, adeno tonsillectomy and nasal bone fracture reduction . Have started with the initial steps of tympanoplasty , FESS and septoplasty. Have assisted almost all basic surgeries in ENT

Are you allowed to touch the patient?? Please describe the procedures you have done:

Yes of course. I see OPD patients on regular basis. Have performed numerous Diagnostic nasal endoscopies, fibreoptic laryngoscopies and otoendoscopies and microscopies. I have done all minor OT procedures.

How are the academics? Any case presentations done?

We do have academics in the department varying from presentations, journal club . Case presentations are also there but not on regular basis. We have 1 month oncology posting in Rajeev Gandhi Cancer Institute in Final year. Also there is rotatory posting in radiology, audiometry and lab ( micro and path )

How is the pass rate?? Have your seniors passed.

We have one primary and one secondary giving exam every year. Last year one senior cleared in first attempt , while second cleared in his second practical attempt.

How satisfied are you with your choice?

Very satisfied

Any other departments at your institution good for DNB??

According to the reviews from my peers, Anaesthesia, Medicine, Paediatrics are also good.

Stipend and accomodation details         

Primary first year 42000. 2000 increment every year.

Secondary 50000 (approx)

Accomodation for female pgs in nursing hostel. No accomodation for boys.

They do aid in getting paying guest accomodations.

Any other info you would like to give.?               

The hospital doesnot have a brand name. Though there are enough resources for someone to train himself. Though most of the procedural or surgical chances depend on your individual rapport with the consultants.

Why did you choose this hospital? Give atleast 3 reasons or describe in detail

1. I wanted a surgical branch.

2. I wanted to be in Delhi ( North India)

3. It was waiting for me at my turn.
